Product Description

This hands-on course for beginners shows step-by-step in easy words, pictures and activities what wood is, how to choose the right size nail, how to set up a nail and use a hammer, how to pull nails, how to use a saw and sawhorses, and how to measure wood with a ruler.

By the end of the course the student can confidently make simple things such as a picture frame and a boat out of wood.

Materials You Need to Supply: Samples of hardwood and softwood, a place to look at and take leaf or needle samples from a hardwood (deciduous) and softwood (evergreen) tree, plenty of small softwood boards, different size nails, hammer, saw, sawhorses, ruler (preferably with one inch markings only), pencil, paper, crayons.
