Product Description

Sponges and potatoes become tools for creating art in this simple and enjoyable course.

Students learn that sponges can be cut up into shapes, which are dipped in paint and then pressed on paper to produce entertaining and colorful pieces of art. Other art tools for printmaking are also discussed, such as leaves, pieces of wood, rubber bands, toothpicks, etc.

Students discover that even a potato can be carved to create printable designs and patterns on paper.

Materials You Need to Supply: Felt tip pen, scissors, sponges (square plastic kind), tempera paint, water, newspaper, white paper to print on, cups or bowls to put paint in, knife, medium-sized potato.
